Sorry for not posting for a while things have still been kind of busy and will probably continue to be pretty busy but I should be able to post once and a while although the Friday Favorites won’t be as consistent as I had hoped.
Anyways onto the good stuff. I was in Cambridge visiting one of the schools that I am thinking of transferring to for after the fall last Saturday and we were in Harvard Square which is right near Woolcott and Co. so I had to check it out since it is quite possible that it will be my yarn shop of choice once I transfer. So I walked in with the mindset that I absolutely wouldn’t buy anything, which usually works for me. Then lo and behold the lady working there comes up to me and my mom and mention that all the yarn was 30% off and all the accessories and books were 25% off. I still had no intention of buying anything until I realized that they carry all types and weights of Malabrigo and then I just had to buy some Malabrigo Lace which I have been dying to try. So I bought 4 skeins of that in the colorway Shocking Pink.
I then realized that I needed some solid colored sock yarn for my next sock project so I ended up buying some Claudia Handpainted Fingering Weight yarn in the colorway mint.
When I got to the register my total was around $42 which is great for that much yarn and the lady told me that if I spent $8 more I could get a free tote so my mom ended up buying some wool wash which she had been thinking about for a while and I got the free tote, which regrettably I don’t have a picture of to show but it is just a large canvas bag with the Woolcott logo on it which will be great to use as a shopping bag when I shop there in the future, which even if I don’t end up going to school in Cambridge or Boston I will definitely go back. The people there were incredibly nice and very approachable and they had a great selection of yarn that I like.
In other knitting news the teddy bear that I am making for my sister is in the process of being sewn up and I should have pictures of it as an FO soon. This also means that I will have finished at least one of my projects for the Ravelympics. Also the Hex Coat I have decided to frog due to the fact that I have lost a ton of weight since I started it and am continuing to lose weight so i will be starting it over once I have gotten down to my target weight.

Well I just received my prize from the contest on Yarn Pig’s blog Baa Baa Blacksheep. Here is what I won.
This is a picture of all of the prizes together which are all just amazing. There is sock yarn, a little sock bag, and some handmade stitch markers. I will follow with some individual pictures of each item. All of these items are from her Etsy shop. She now sells sock kits which come with a sock bag, sock yarn, and stitch markers all matched up together.
This is the sock yarn. It is the Petunia Sock Yarn in the colorway Deep Love and as said before other colors of the sock yarn can found at her Etsy shop although I don’t believe she has anymore of this colorway.
These are the stitch markers which she hand makes and can also be found at her Etsy shop.
This is the sock bag which she makes in all different fabrics and sells on her Etsy shop. She also sells larger bags as well.
Now I just have to decide which sock pattern to make with this yarn. I have a couple ideas and don’t know which I want to do so I am going to post my options here and would love to hear what you all think. I will be starting them this weekend hopefully so leave your comments by then.
Pomatomus by Cookie A from Knitty
Twisted Tulip Socks by Chrissy Gardinar from Interweave Knits Spring 2008 (this one is a Ravelry link)
Queen of Cups by Nathania Apple from Knitty
I love them all and have no idea which one I want to make with this yarn so your opinion on it would be great.
Well that is all for now i should have the 2nd Monkey Sock done by the end of the week and I have a couple of rows added to the Honeybee Stole which is moving along slowly. I can’t wait to hear your opinion on which sock pattern to use. I should be starting the socks this weekend either Saturday or Sunday whichever day I get over to my Mom’s house to use her ball winder.

Well the lace yarn that I won arrived last week and I just got around to photographing it. I already started making the Honeybee Stole with it and I have pictures of the start of that as well.
Here is the Misty Blue Lace weight Alpaca. It is from EnchantedFibers on Etsy. It is beautiful and soft and I just love it.
This is the start of the project I am doing with it. I am making the Honeybee Stole
link). This was my first time doing a provisional cast on and it took a little getting used to. I love this pattern however and it is very well written. I haven’t had any trouble so far and am just enjoying knitting it. I definitely
think that I have caught the lace knitting bug.
Here is my finished Calorimetry which was a really quick knit. I finished all the knitting in about one day but I kept putting off sewing the button on which just got done last night. I can’t wait till it is cold enough to wear this again because it is just the cutest winter accessory I have ever seen.
Here is the finished Cable Eyelet Scarf. I know I promised pictures of me wearing these two items but my husband has just been running around like crazy and hasn’t had the time to take photos of me wearing them so that will have to wait.
